Meet Our Leather Business Card Holder
One of the most frequently asked for features of our Premium Leather iPad Folios over the last 8 years was a place to store business cards. Many MacCase customers are professional people, entrepreneurs, travelers and creative spirits who meet with clients, investors, and other associates. The perfect place to exchange a business card.
We looked, tinkered, tested and developed a whole host or prototypes that included a place to hold business cards. They always looked and felt like an afterthought. At MacCase, we strived for a certain level of aesthetic perfection. Do we always achieve it? Admittedly not. By we always try.
In our over two decades of putting products into the world, we've never sent something out the door we knew was not the best it could be. We've never designed a product just to put something out.
So we continued to take the requests and work on a solution we could be proud of.
Enter Magnets
With the introduction of a new series of iPad Pro Folio designs, MacCase took the opportunity to re-invent "on case" storage. We're pretty good at this inventing and re-invetning thing and never lost interest in solving this problem. But it had to be done in the right way, in the MacCase way.
The powerful magnets that were part of the new Folio front cover design would be strong enough to hold a slip case that could carry a dozen or so standard weight business cards.
There are 3 locations for placing the leather business card holder on the 12.9 Folio. One might call the locations, high, medium and low. Or top, middle and bottom. If you add the Paper Holder to your 12.9 Folio, you have 2 additional locations. On the 11" and 10.5, there are 2 places to place the business card holder, top or bottom, or hight and low. Adding the Paper Holder to these Folios also adds additional locations to store your cards.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What MacCase products do the Premium Leather Business Card Holders work with?
A: The Card Holder will seamlessly attach to the Folios they are designed to fit using the Magnetic Accessory System. These Folios are identified by the circular exterior magnets sent into the front panel of each case. Here are the links to the compatible iPad Pro Folios -

Q: Will the Card Holder match my Folio?
A: Yes. There are no issues with matching the pebble grain black Card Holder with the black hides of the Folio. There may be an issue with the Vintage models due to the natural variations in the dye lots of the hides. The vintage is a raw, unfinished hide and varies from area to area, section to section, even on a given hide.
We do our best to match your Folio to the Card Holder if they are purchased together. There is a greater chance of a Vintage Card Holder not perfectly matching if the holder is purchased after the Folio, due to the patina that the leather takes on over time.
Q: How many cards can I hold with this accessory?
A: It varies by size and the stock of the cards you are looking to carry. We have found that about 12 standard cards is the limit.
Q: Will the Card Holder fall off my Folio?
A: The Holder (along with all our other iPad Pro accessories) have been tested several ways to insure that the magnets have enough power to hold the cards to the surface of the Folio under extreme conditions. A shake test was used which can be seen in the accessories video above.
Another test that was done included giving a loaded Folio (12.9 iPad Pro, Apple Pencil case with stylist, Paper Holder with 6 sheets of 8.5 x 11 paper, Cable Pouch with the AC charger and cable inside and a Card Holder with 10 cards) to a series of college age runners and having them do 100 meter dashes with the loaded Folio under their arm. No accessories were lost during this test.
Of course common sense must be used whenever you are using magnets to attach one thing to another. The more cards you add, or the heavier the stock or weight of the cards, the greater chance they will not stay attached. If you plan on exceeding the recommended limits we'd recommend doing a "shake test" as shown in our video above.
Q: Is this product available for the MacCase Custom Program?
