Meet Our Folio Cable Pouch
Every once in a while we'd get a phone call here at MacCase. A customer or potential customer would say they're thinking of purchasing one of our Premium Leather Folios or was already an owner of one and wanted to know if there was place in the case to store the AC power adapter and the cable that accompanies it.
We would let them know how we looked at adding a pocket of one kind or another to the case but the result was always the same. Yes, it was functional, but no one would want to buy or use it. It was an aesthetic disaster. Think of a clown nose on the Mona Lisa. We went through similar exercises with trying to add similar functionality to our MacBook Pro Sleeves.
But we never lost sight of the fact that customers wanted a place to store these small accessory items and carry them with their iPad Pros.

With the introduction of a new series of iPad Pro Folio designs, MacCase took the opportunity to re-invent "on case" storage. We're pretty good at this inventing and re-invetning thing and never lost interest in solving this problem. But it had to be done in the right way, in the MacCase way.
The powerful magnets that were part of the new Folio front cover design would be strong enough to hold a small pouch. This pouch in turn, could hold the AC adapter, cables, a screen cleaning cloth and other small items. It would be the iPad Pro accessory to hold all the other iPad Pro accessories. ( Well, maybe not all of them, but you get the point! ).
The key to the whole design was the fact that if you wanted it, it was available to add to your Folio. It you didn't want it, you didn't have to live with a clown nose, or pocket sewn to the front of your case. This created the opportunity to offer storage to those who had be asking for it without penalizing those who weren't.
Solving these kinds of difficult problems in a simple and elegant way is what MacCase design is all about. We scaled to Cable Pouch to integrate perfectly with the 10.5, 11 and 12.9 Premium Leather Folios. It's just big enough to hold the most important stuff, but not too large as to ever be cumbersome. We hope you like it.

Q: What MacCase products does this pouch work with?
A: The Cable Pouch will seamlessly attach to any Folio using the Magnetic Modular Accessory System. These can be identified by the circular exterior magnets sent into the front panel of each case. Here are the links to the compatible iPad Pro Folios -

Of course the pouch can be carried as a separate item in any one our of other models.
Q: Will this case match my Folio?
A: Yes. There are no issues with matching the pebble grain black Cable Pouch with the black hides of the Folio. There may be an issue with the Vintage model due to the natural variations in the dye lots. The vintage is a raw, unfinished hide and varies from area to area, section to section, even on a given hide.
We do our best to match your Folio to a Pouch if they are purchased together. There is a greater chance of a Vintage Cable Pouch not perfectly matching if the pouch is purchased after the Folio, due to the patina that the leather takes on over time.
Q: What exactly can I put in this pouch?
A: The Folio Cable Pouch is designed to hold most of the smaller iPad Pro accessories that you might want to carry with your iPad Pro on any given day. The AC power adapter and it's cable, a cloth to clean the screen, a point of sale attachment and / or cables to attach a camera are all things that would be easily carried in this handy little pouch.
Q: Will the Pouch fall off my Folio?
A: The Folio Cable Pouch (along with all our other iPad Pro accessories) has been tested several ways to insure that the magnets have enough power to hold the Pouch to the surface of the Folio under extreme conditions. A shake test was used which can be seen in the accessories video above.
Another test that was done included giving a loaded Folio (12.9 iPad Pro, Apple Pencil case with stylist, Paper Holder with 6 sheets of 8.5 x 11 paper, Cable Pouch with the AC charger and cable inside and a Card Holder with 10 cards)
to a series of college age runners and having them do 100 meter dashes with the loaded Folio under their arm. No accessories were lost during this test.
Of course common sense must be used whenever you are using magnets to attach one thing to another. The heavier you make the pouch, the greater chance it will not stay attached.
If you plan on placing some unorthodox items in the pouch we'd recommend doing a "shake test" as shown in our video above. We would not recommend placing, say 10 gold billion 1oz coins in the pouch and running through a crowded street. Bad idea.
Q: Is this product padded and lined?
A: For this product, it was important to keep the bulk and mass to a minimum. Therefore, it is not padded like our other Premium Leather Accessory Pouches are but it is fully lined in a wonderful, clothier-grade nylon. Anything you might want to place inside will be very safe.
